\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\tPeacock is shifting into high gear with its plans for a Fast & Furious<\/em> TV series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tThe streamer has officially picked up a show based on the long-running movie franchise. The series order for the Fast & Furious<\/em> show comes after franchise star Vin Diesel announced the project’s development<\/a> at NBCUniversal’s upfronts in May. (On stage, Diesel said four shows were in the pipeline, though Peacock later clarified that just one was actively being developed.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tThe show’s creative team is also in place: Mike Daniels (Sons of Anarchy<\/em>, NBC’s forthcoming Rockford Files<\/em> remake) and Wolfe Coleman (911: Lone Star<\/em>) are writing the pilot episode and will serve as showrunners. They’ll executive produce with Diesel and Sam Vincent of One Race, Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Morgan. Moritz and Original Film also produce the Fast & Furious<\/em> movie franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tAll other details, including the show’s potential title, are being kept under wraps for the time being. Peacock is targeting a 2028 premiere date for the show \u2014 which would line up with the release of the next movie in the series, Fast Forever<\/em>. It’s slated to hit theaters on March 17, 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tThe Fast & Furious<\/em> franchise, which spans 11 movies over 25 years (so far), is one of the most valuable properties NBCUniversal owns. The movies have earned more than $7 billion at the worldwide box office and served as the basis for theme park attractions, video games and other merchandise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\tNews of the Fast & Furious<\/em> series pickup comes as Peacock also announced that it’s developing a drama series called The Chairman<\/a><\/em> starring Eddie Murphy, in what would be his first ongoing series role since he left Saturday Night Live<\/em> in 1984.
